I have to say… I love a good pair of jeans and will splurge on a pair that I love since I live in jeans in the fall…winter… and spring!  As a mom and someone who doesn’t work in an office outside my home, jeans are a regular part of my wardrobe.  There several tips I have that I think will help you find the perfect pair of woman’s jeans for you if it is a great pair of bootcut jeans or even skinny jeans!  Don’t you feel great when you find that perfect pair?

Tip One: Try on the jeans.  I know this sounds silly… but all stores sizing is different.  You might be a 8 in one store and a 10 in another.  The jeans might say they are a 8… but could be sized wrong.  I always try on jeans.  I am one that can not order online with out trying on!  My husband who used to walk in to a store and just grab a 32 and they fit.  Now that he is getting older, he is finding he has to try on everything!

Tip Two:  Grab several different cuts of jeans.  I am not super skinny and have a little bit of extra in several places.  So I never thought I would look good in a skinny jean.  I took the chance this year and found a great pair of skinny jeans for women that I actually rolled up and used as capris this spring.  I loved the fit and they looked great on.  So don’t be afraid to try on different styles!

Tip Three:  Once you find your style.  Grab several sizes… even several pairs of the same jean in the same size.  In college I worked at a few stores in the mall and found that even trying on several pairs of jeans in the same size they all fit different.  Remember not all jeans are exactly the same.  For example…if you grab an 8 in a pair of jeans and it seems a bit snug.. Grab the same pair in the same size… It might fit better!

Tip Four: Don’t worry about the size!  If you feel good in the jeans and look good… Who cares the size.  I have found that you can be one size in a store and go to the next and be a different size all together.  My closet has small-large.  So do not stress on the size.  I know there are stores out there where their sizing goes no bigger than a 3, but they are more like a 12.  So as long as you feel good, don’t worry what the tag says.

Tip Five:  It is ok to splurge on a good pair of jeans!  This is an item you wear a lot and need them to hold up.  I have to admit… I am a deal shopper and have bought cheap jeans… but they are what they say they are.  The do not last.  I am one that our town only has about 1 store to shop at and I don’t want to waste money on something that won’t last.  I have one pair of great jeans that did cost a bit and I have filled in my wardrobe with jeans and pieces that did not break the bank too!  Check out True Religion and see if you can find your perfect pair of jeans!
