I am a huge fan of wooden toys, and for that I was thrilled to get to review an item from My Father’s Hands. Wooden toys are great because I feel they allow kids to use their imagination. I am not saying electronic toys are bad, but great for a little one to make their own noises for the toy. My Father’s Hands sent me Wee Sized Road Grader $35.00. “…Make me a street for things that go.” (Easy Street ⁄ Rita Gray). Lots of fun to be had smoothing out the dirt with the fully pivotal blade. This wooden toy invites lots of sound making and open-ended play.” This is a great toy! My son has had to play with it inside due to the cold temps (right now it is a steamy 24 degrees outside with a windchill of 16!….almost single digit numbers). My son has had a blast pushing his Road Grader around, and loves how the blade moves around. It is so funny to hear a 3 year old make up sounds for a toy! Since we have the wooden floors he really gets the Road Grader moving. This wooden toy is of great quality. My son has played with it for quite a bit, and it has held up to his play! These are on my wish list for him for future gifts!
My Father’s Hands has several wooden vehicles for sale ranging in price from $34.00 up to $95 for the bigger and more detailed vehicles. The Father who’s hands creates these great wooden vehicles is Marlon. He creates each wooden vehicle by hand so each might slightly differ from the picture.
Raised on a farm in the Morrow Mountains of rural North Carolina, I am the proud father of two amazing children. Growing up I would often steal a moment between chores, to create wooden treasures. Embarking on my journey of fatherhood I found a new purpose for my love for woodworking. Being able to transform rough stocks of lumber into satin smooth battery – free wooden toys for my children, has been an exciting and fulfilling endeavor.
